encoding with tmpgenc plus

i have a few avi files , when watch using windows media player, all scenes run very smoothly with no error...
but i need to encode it to mpeg ...
using tmpgenc plus, the files encoded to from avi to mpeg ... but when watch the mpeg files , alot of scenes have colour blocks like the screen is distorted .......
what to do???
seeking help to solve this problem...
