Codec package

Hey

I’m having problems playing a number of video’s i have on my PC. I can see the picture but have no sound. It seems only one or two videos don’t have the sound. I think it maybe that i have too many codecs and so they interfere with each other causing no sound. Is their a codec package available which includes everything i need? Or does anyone have a list of the essential codecs?
