I even tried to convert the .zip file using AVS video converter but then it tells me I do not have the Quicktime video codec installed. I downloaded Quicktime Alternative and it is still not working. What do I need to do so this .zip file will import into Windows Movie Maker?
zip files are not video files. they’re archives. you extract what’s inside. then you can decide what to do based on what you get.
if i’m guessing correctly from your second post and you did extract the contents and got a mov file, get quicktime alternative. it should make the file readable in movie maker.
So if we download quicktime alternative the videos will import into WMM? Im having the same problem and I have zip. files as well
I’ll explain:
If you’re on windows, right click the .zip file and extract it.
Now you’ll have the video file(s) that you want to play.
If you’re not then download 7 zip...

same problem
is they’re a codec that i can download the messege i get is,
The file C:\David\Home\cheering.zip cannot be imported because the codec required to play the file is not installed on your computer. If you have already tried to download and install the codec, close and restart Windows Movie Maker, and then try to import the file again.
