I downloaded a movie and the DivX player didn´t played the movie, neither the windows media player, the message said that the codec I needed to run the movie was the XviD codec. I downloaded and installed the XviD-1.0.2-29082004 version by Koepi. Still the movie didn´t run. I also downloaded the video toolbox and it said that the codec i needed was the XviD MPEG-4.
The fact is that i still can´t see the damn movie.
What can i do!?!?!?!?, if somebody knows what´s going on please let me know.

If you have the proper codec but the file (assuming it’s an avi) still won’t play, it could be of incorrect length. If that is the case you can use avipreview or media player classic. Since you’re using videotoolbox to diagnose there’s a tiny (but possible) chance that the xvid-encoded file was in a matroska container. In that case you’d also use media player classic to play the file.
