You could just go to softpedia and search for video conversion software there - they have hundreds of video converters and a lot of freeware ones too

Decoder Configuration Utility
Uncheck the box that says “use advanced hardware overlay”

i had the same problem and i did the unchecking the box but now it says the size is too big. it went from being 7ooMB to being 8.36GB

Man.... YOU.ARE.A.HERO!!!!!! seriously!!! I´ve been trying to get the solution for months! I downloaded an mpeg converter and the quality was awful, I´ve tried to convert to divx and nothing! but your solution worked PERFECT!!

This Fixed my issue with the above error in ROXIO, and now able to finish my Smurfs DVD for my son.
