700Mb .mpg file plays for 0 seconds

I downloaded a .mpg file of around 700Mb, but when I try to play it with windows media player it says that the total time is 0.00 seconds. It does not give any kind of error and I am able to play other .mpg files witout problems...
does anyone know what to do?
