I was thinking about buying a dvd player, but I wanted to know which dvd player is going to be able to play OGMs,MKVs, VOBs, TS files, and other non standard MPEG and AVI kind of files.

check kvcd.com this is a good format to burn a movie onto a regular cdr to play in your dvd player.
