problem playing a movie file

ok.. i have this movie i want to play but it just plays in realplayer. its extention is " .rmvb ". i dont know but maybe the reason i cant play it on anything else but realplayer is because they have exclusive rights for this type of file. i tried downloading VLC player but it doesnt work either. now i had to download realplayer 10 and stuff.. but i wanted to be able to play my movies with VLC and not the stupid media player...

Have you tried the tool Real Alternative 1.29 ?
Maybe it can handle that type of grrrrreal media smiley

Real Networks does hold exclusive rights for the Real Media format, and as a result Real Player is the only player “authorized” to play Real Media contents. As suggested above, this limitation can be overcome by using Real Alternative, which has a DirectShow splitter in it. Real Alternative can be downloaded here

i need help im trying to play this file that is called a bin file my computer cant find anything to play it nothing so can u guys tell me wat program to download im goin crazy¢¢¢‼¢π
by the way does the real player thing work

i dont know which type of file you have, but the best program ive seen around is the VLC player. i think u can download it for free. just google it. it always plays the movie files my WMP and real player cant play. alrite.. gluck, peace... oh yea.... and thanks for the 2 that answered my question.. it really helped
