Play MPEG files

I cannot play some supposed MPEG files. Have tried RealPlayer, Windows Media Player. They both just lock up when I try to play the files.

Anyone have any ideas on how I can fond a way to play these files?

Dose your computer have Divx code?
and you need Quick time player...
it work for me every time...

Have DivX codecs and have tried QuickTime and DivX player. Still no luck.

Maybe you can convert mpeg to other formats eg,avi,vob,dvd.

What can I use to do the conversion? I am a novice at this.
