hi, i recently downloaded a few movies that are in the iso format and was wondering how to play them on the computer without having a dvd drive, is there some type of simulator i can use, when i click on the files they open in windows media but there is no video, just the sound of the movie reply

To the above poster, download Daemon tools. It’s a drive simulator, once installed it simulates a new drive. To use it, once you have installed it, you will see the logo in the bottom right of windows xp, on the tool bar thing. Left click it and it will say 'Device 0: [F:] No Media'. Click on that, find your ISO file and select it, and then Daemon tools will open the video in your chosen media viewer. And before you load up another File, you have to unmount al drives in Daemon tools, just click on the logo and select unmount all drives. reply

DVDShrink can open ISO files so that you can watch them on your computer...

Click FILE->Open Disk Image...and then search for the ISO file that you want to watch...wherever you have it located on your system.

Once It analyzes the image file in the video preview box you can right click and click on watch full return back to normal size either ESC button on your computer or right click again and de-select the full screen option. reply

I found the light boys and girls since no one else could. Try downloading Roxio 7.5. Take a normal AVI,MPEG,DIVX basicly anything and it will convert it perfectly to DVD format and you can burn it straight on. The lip sink is on the picture is the best i’ve seen for pirated movies and you can’t go wrong it doesn’t error or nothing so far! reply

To play an AVI file, download the DIVX codec from the DIVX site. It’s free!
When you download the setup program, it gives you two folders that you can install, “Divx” and “DIVX Player”. If you have Windows Media Player (WMP), you can just select the first folder to be installed and every time you you want to watch the file you can just double click on it and it will launch itself it WMP. If it doesn’t want to, right-click on the file and select “Open With”. There, scroll down the list of proposed programs to use to open your file, highlight Windows Media Player and put a check mark beside where it says “Always use the selected program to open this kind of file”, then press enter or click on ok. This should solve your problem if it’s a player problem. reply

I just got the same movie and for my first try with Daemon tools and installing the InterActual Player that comes with the movie, you will be able to watch your movie on your computer with Daemon tools and InterActual Player (which you can upgrade for free afterwards) reply

actually, I thought I was gonna be able to watch the movie because I could see the menu screen and check out some of the bonus features, but I can’T seem to be able to watch the actual movie. I tried a bunch of different options/solutions, but to no avail...

If the file is an ISO you can burn it on cd or dvd.For cd burn VCD or SVCD in order to play on a regular DVD player if is an ISO for DVD the size is bigger starting with over 1 Gb and after burning is already done so you can play it on your dvd player to watch it on tv.If is just an avi file that’s a different story. So find on your burning software burn image.Iso file can not be converted, to watch it have to be burnt, only avi Xvid MPEG may be converted in a different format and standard. and so on.From ISO you can make just another type of image file or open it, extract the video file and convert it.

When I try to burn my ISO file to DVD everything goes fine, but when i try to play the DVD in my DVD player, the picture jitters, like the tracking is off. Sound is fine, just the picture. I am encoding the ISO file with DVD Shrink and burning it with , either nero or DVD Decrypter, both have the same results. My DVD player is able to play burned DVDs, just not the ones I am making. Any Insight or advise would be appretiated. reply
