Anyone know what a ".imv” file is or how I might view it. I believe it originated on a digital camcorder of some type. huh

It’s an Impatica file extention for movies in an Impaticized presentation.

Up to 4 files are created by Impatica software.
.imp .imv (video) .html and .jar

If you are seeing a .imv file it’s a file extention for a Impatica movie file

Took video with my sony handycam and used their supplied imagemixer software to make discs.

My panasonic will not play the .imv files that this produces.

If I make a full copy of the cam disc then there is no problem. However if I use imagemixer software and try to select some viedo frames off the full mini disc then it is a no go.

What a mess from Sony.

How do you retain the original camcorder format to reproduce select frames?

Sony America never responded to my original inquiries

As I started this thread I suppose I am obliged to answer it! From imagemixer if you want mpeg files you have to explicitly save as or export (can’t quite remember which). The imv files just are not big enough to hold the video info so it must get stored elsewhere.

I have the same problem: converting other formats to .IMV

here is where you can get the file convertor. scroll to the
bottom of the page, click on the file, and a download button
will apear below it (you might have to scroll down to see this)
however, it is for PC’s only, and I have a Mac.

good luck

Am IMV file is an ImageMixer View file, and as you said comes with a video camera. Unfortunately it cannot be converted as far as i am aware (currently trawlling the net looking) and even the local Camera House cannot help. If you have received it good louck to you, however if you are putting it on to CD from the video player, take it to your local camera house and get them to put it on CD for you. The ImageMixer software is useless for those who wish to show others their moviews

Some chinese mp4 players play imv video files. I need to convert to imv for my mp4 player. Pixtree has a imv transcoder, but i can’t find it online. I searched everywhere, but can not find an imv enoceder or transcoder. Most player use Amv, but i am stuck with 4 that play only imv files.
