I can't get my computer to play dvdrip movies. It always shows a cool light show instead of the movi

Does anyone have any advice as to how I can get my vista computer to play dvdrip movies? I can get the mp4, avi, xvid, but not anything with the dvdrip word in it. After I download a dvdrip movie it shows a cool light show with the audio part of the movie working. I can listen to the movie but not watch it. Can anyone PLEASE help me? Thank You.

That kind of phenomena largely due to the DVDrip file itself, I suggest you download dvd movie and rip it by yourself!
