wel i came along a *.rmvb file and I had no problems playing it with windows media player Classic(it HAS to be CLASSIC) and Matroska pack (just dld and install and you have almost every codec you need to play any file you want xD
Hope it works
Thanks to the guy that mentioned to download the codecs.
I don’t play .rmvb on an xbox, but I did use mplayer. Downloading http://www1.mplayerhq.hu/MPlayer/releases/codecs/rp9codecs-win32-20050115.tar.bz2 and placing them into the mplayer\codecs\ folder worked great for playing .rmvb.
you can download a codec to play *rmvb, if you do not want to borther it, you can also convert the *rmvb file to others which are watchable on your real player, if you have a converter at your hand. when i encounter the problem, i simply convert the *rmvb file to wmv with imtoo mpeg encoder and play the converted file on my player, and there was no inconvenience to do so as the mpeg encoder is of swift speed.
