The answers given above are right — the full name of the file is XXXXXXXX.avi.bc!, but you just can’t see it right now. Go to Start>Control Panel>Folder Options>'View' tab and uncheck 'Hide extensions from known file types'. Once you save that preference, go back to the file and you should see the full name (then delete the '.bc!'. Hope this helps.

O.K. Here is the real deal. You are all right, BUT, wrong too. Sometimes a file (Rare stuff mostly) will run out of seeds when you are almost done (96% - 99.9%). True the file is not complete and will problbly never will. You can still watch the file. Download VLC player and install it. It’s a small, simple player with no bells or whistles but it plays everything. Open the directory, right click on the file, choose play with...select VLC Player. You’ll miss the parts that are missing but EVERYTHING that was downloaded will play.

Sorry to bring up an old topic but i also had this problem and found no help on the net but this topic came up as one of the top listings in google search and it still doesnt have a real solution to it. Now anyone else finding the topic wont need to look any further.
It wasnt working for me by renaming but when i got the error message from media player and asking if i wanted to try to open it (the original bc! file) i said yes. It played ok but that didnt help for changing the name from bc! to avi. I downloaded any video converter free and that converted it without a problem.

iv changed the file type, tried opening with WMP, WMC quicktime and divx none of them work... the .Bc file suggests that the file hasn’t been finished downloading, yet i know it has as i watched them all bfore, then i reimaged my computer and the filetype has changed to this.. /wrists

if you delete the .bc it may change the file but if the file says incomplete, it is. give up and find another one.
There HAS to be something in the file b4 it will open...........................

Jesus after reading this whole thread, there’s alot of arrogant pricks on this site. Just because one doesnt bloody have a degree in computer architecture, doesnt mean one is stupid.

I get a messgae saying download complete. Thus I assume its completed.

I dont have tools options on my folder, so how do I bloody get to it?

I was able to get rid of the bc! bit, but it still wont open in any of my players.

Your torrent download is “jammed”, upgrade bitcomet client and reinstall it, open torrent again and he will tell you you allready have download job with that name and offer you to check hash...acept and he will rechek file and “finish it” for you. Now you should be able to find avi in download folder.

Hope this works for you also

I did this and it says “this file does not appear to have a video track." Should I try a different media player? I am using Divx.

1.GO to any folder in your computer (for instance MY computer)
2. Click on Tools
3. Click on Folder Options
4. Click on the View Tab
5. UNCHECK - Hide extensions for known file types
6. Click Apply to all folders

now the file should show up with the .bc extension at the end... JUST RIGHT CLICK AND HIT RENAME THEN DELETE THE .BC
