How do I change an extension from aXXo to avi?

I also have downlowded and aXXo.avi file and it will play on my wmp. However I can only get visuals when it is minimised, when I maximise it I get a split second of visual then a blank screen. any solutions?

Actually u cannot b’coz aXXo is the name of the person who has uploaded the file and so u cannot change it, its not an extension download K-Lite Codec pack n install it to see the movie

“3wPlayer is a rogue media player software application bundled with trojans that can infect computers running Microsoft Windows. It is designed to exploit users who download video files, instructing them to download and install the program in order to view the video. The 3wPlayer employs a form of social engineering to infect computers. Seemingly desirable video files, such as recent movies, are released via BitTorrent or other distribution channels. These files resemble conventional AVI files, but are engineered to display a message when played on most media player programs, instructing the user to visit the 3wPlayer website and download the software to view the video. The program is bundled with malware that has various undesirable effects.

The 3wPlayer is infected with Trojan.Win32.Obfuscated.en.[citation needed]

According to Symantec, 3wPlayer “may download” a piece of adware they refer to as Adware.Lop,[1] which “adds its own toolbar and search button to Internet Explorer”.[2]

A perl script posted online can reportedly decrypt 3wplayer files back into AVI.[3] This claim has been tested with mixed results, as the intended AVI file is rarely the desired video file. Users are encouraged to delete the file from their hard drive."

The files tend to be fake and if it’s an actual video, it’s not what you want.

Example: I had supposedly DLed SHrek the 3rd for a friend at work, the file asked for 3Wplayer, I had the 3Wplayer decrypter which worked, and it turned out to be pornography, and not the kind you want on your PC/Mac.

So, I’d just delete that crap if I were you.
