File Types & Installations

I have a few questions

1. I have some dvd movies on my comp that are of axxo files and i do not know how to play them or what program to play them through.

2. I have downloaded a few different games on my computer and ive been able to get nmost of them to work except stronghold 2. I installed it with daemon tools and now when I go to play the game it asks for the original stronghold 2 disk 2

If, as I suspect, you downloaded the film, and it came as several files - *.r0, *.r1, *.r2 etc. OR *.000, *.001, *.002, etc. (or similar), then you need to download winRAR. Then, extract the files from .r0 or .000, and it will use the information from the other archives in building the extracted file. This is called a spanned archive. You may get a dialogue asking whether or not to use the other archives. If so, say Yes.

I’m slightly surprised you didn’t also get a .sfv file with the rest. If you did, download Daemon Tools (www.daemon-tools.cc) and mount that. Equally, Alcohol 120% or Nero should be able to do it.

If that wasn’t what you downloaded, could you be a bit more specific? What exactly were the files called?

If all you need to know is how to burn the DVD from the files themselves, just download Nero or Alcohol 120%, which are both good burning software. Buy them if you’ve got the extra cash; neither of them is expensive.

i had the same problem as anonymous, i downloaded a movie as a bit torrent, then used azureus as the converter and now it came in 44 .r0 parts, with a .rar and .sfv file @ the end, so what i need to do is youse winrar and extract the .r0 files?? yes as you can tell im a n00b pirate i generally stick to anime and that works just fine, it saves into a format i can play in my BSplayer, but ive just started expanding to larger movies and this is my first problem

Type of file: WinRAR archive

Now I cant play it and have tried to extract it but it keeps coming up with a password error.

1) Does anyone know the password?
2) Does anyone know how to sidestep the problem?

Well the first problem is that you have illegally downloaded copyright material, so I suggest that you sidestep it by watching the series as each episode comes out, and then buying the box set when its released. If you still want it.

As for cracking the password, I refer you to a post I made in another thread about how to crack .rar file passwords:

Yes, but the only way is a brute-force attack (which is to say trying combinations of characters until you happen to find the right one). That often takes days of solid work by attack software (at 100%CPU) - I remember that when I benchmarked my last machine for doing it, which was a 3200+ Athlon64 with moderate specs, it said it would likely take thousands of days to find a password between 5 and 10 alphanumeric characters long. I downloaded agame and it had three filed with
“ccd” “img” and “sub” file types,how do I install the game????

hi i receive a tar file and i extracted it with winrar. the file extension it came out to be is “cd1” and the file type the details tell me it is “cd1 file”. can anyone help me on hoe to play this file?

Okay I may be a complete moron but I need to know so I am gonna ask!

I downloaded bitlord and downloaded the movie files can anyone take me step by step as to what to do next?

I downloaded a torrent that had one (empty) winzip file, and a lot of .r0 files. The last time this happened, I extracted the .r0 files together, and it churned out a playable movie. These however, cannot be extracted for some reason (I only have winzip evaluation edition - could that be the problem?).

Any suggestions greatly recieved!
