Hi all, I wanted to convert a rmvb file to avi so that i can burn it to disk to watch it on my dvd player. I was introduced to winavi and it work well till I open the converted file and find out that the audio and video do not sync. It sync at the beginning but the audio sort of goes slower then the video. I don’t have the problem on the rmvb file.

Do I need any codecs or is there anyway I can rectify the problem?

Any help will be much appreciated...

Of course DVD player can play avi files provided that it has the function to play “DIVX”... there is a small icon indicated “DIVX”...

I love my divx supportive dvd player got it for 50 bucks at big-k Also i belive there is NO rm supportive dvd players in exsistence thus why this thread is about converting it to a dvd player compatable format. How compatable a format is depends on your dvd player as common sense would put it I suggest you buy something has fun007 suggested a dvd player that says divx if you don’t have one or the one you have is crapy.

Hi Dev, how can I change the extention to .AVI as I try to rename it, but it doesn’t seen to be working. Please advise..

dev wrote: well, i don’t know about u guys i can play the video fine, i meant the .rmvb videos oviously, and for those who wants the .rmvb to burn into dvd, well here is a very small tip: if the movies is divided into 2 parts, most are, and have huge names, u can do one thing to keep the original file intact, just copy the original file and paste in the desktop. then rename the file upto .rmvb ex. cd1.rmvb or cd2.rmvb or the movie name1.rmvb etc. then goto command, from there rename the file on the desktop xxx.rmvb to xxx.avi and wallaw it got changed to avi, and furthormore it has no trouble, no download no nothing. then make dvd using nero 7 i belive it makes dvd within 2 hours, and congratulation u made an .rmvb to a dvd file and it only to a max of 2 hours, hope this helps and for those guys who want to play an rmvb file, u can download realplayer and k-lite video codec, u wont have any problem there after in playing any type of video files.

K-lite mega codec pack works great for viewing rmvb.

I found it at: www.codecguide.com and, www.free-codecs.com/download/K_Lite_Mega_Codec_Pack.htm
