ythank you very much! X3

You can convert mpeg files using free conversion software called: VSO DivxToDVD. it’s free and works on most formats (except rmvb)

I downloaded winavi and I get that the .rmvb is a invcorrect file type. WHere can we get the codecs to burn the .rmvb files with winavi?? I also tried Blaze, but no luck there, and am also going to try the Real Player to get the codec installed to winavi. Any other more pleasant ways to go with these files?? I would really like to watch this movie tonight. Took 4 days to download from TorrentPortal.

I have just spent an entire day researching this issue with .rmvb files. I worked with Real Producer many moons ago and had to record ALL files through Real Producer.

After an extensive search I am beginning to think it will save a HELL of a lot of time if I just go buy the old movie — — DUH!!!!

REAL PRODUCTS are only for REALLY RICH people

SO FAR...Have yet to find .rmvb codec for NERO and WINavi refuses to encode the rmvb with the Alternative codec installed.

Okay, this is what I finally found...

Ultra RM Converter at the Brothersoft Site. If you Google for it you will not find it, it is buried in there. However when I googled for rmvb codec, it brought me to their website and to the RMConverter...“Ultr RM Converter” by www.aonesoft.com.

THey also carry the Xvid to DVD Converter and I think that also can do the same. I have also used that in the past, but not for rmvb.

I also was able to patch the plugin for Real Alternative into Nero, but it was very shaky, and I had to remove it, Nero almost crashed. Roxio will run it, but it freezes and stops, and takes forever. Not worth the trouble.
Thanks, lisa

1. Use something like Realaudio-to-Wav Recorder to encode the Real Audio to WAV (PCM/16bit/44.1kHz).

http://www.geocities.com/rawavrecorder/

2. Now use TMPGEnc:

First close wizard, then load in a Template (use Load button - right corner). Choose one that’s best for your video - NTSC (29.97 fps), NTSCFilm (23.976 fps) or PAL (25 fps)

Video source: should be - original RMVB file
Audio source: should be - the WAV file that was created.

START to encode.

TMPGEnc and Realaudio-to-Wav Recorder are freeware programs, but there are other ways of doing the conversion.

EO Video is another one that can do it. It is not totally free though. You only get a short trial period before it must be purchased:

Hey this was really helpfull! Thanks dude!

I recommend using another program for the audio conversion though. With the one you linked you have to wait the length of your real media file actually is to get the wave conversion... With this it goes a lot quicker:
http://www.audiotoolsfactory.com/mp3rmconverter/mp3rmconverter.htm

It’s shareware and will stop working after 20 conversions, but you can uninstall en reinstall it in a heartbeat and get another 20 conversions (so keep the install file on your HD somewhere).

Weird, the uninstall reinstall trick worked once for me, but the second time it didn’t anymore...

This program is also a fast real audio converter, also shareware, but except for a batch function of only 6 (enough for me to work comfortably) it has no limitations (I think).

If anyone knows of a freeware real audio converter that does it faster than realtime as wel, let me know!

VLC MEDIA PLAYER PLAYS ALMOST EVERY TYPE OF MOVIE AND HAS THE RMVB CODEC....AND SO FAR TO BURN IT IVE FOUND THAT YOU HAVE TO CONVERT THE FILE TO MPG OR AVI...

I have over 200 movies on my HDD all converted to RMVB. they take up about 60GB thats 1 reason to use them, to save space. Also I have found the best software to canvert all formats to rmvb is (Easy Realmedia RMVB creator 1.92) it not only creates them for you but as part of the install with ask if you want Mediaplayer classic also I havent came across a format yet it wont convert an average 700mb avi. takes about 60mins to finish using a 2ghz p4 PC
