The mace recorder does convert to avi, bu the playback is not good.
I use ffmpeg to convert, however, it changes my fps to 36 from 30. If anyone else has a better method, I would love to find one.

Some days searched for a solution of a problem with reproduction *.dav a format, and you also have prompted a player (DVR365 Player) which is able to convert in *.avi.

I’ve tried this player made by DAHUA...they use .dav format also...worked for me !

many thanks for the link provided by all you guys, well I see that the software goes fine to play .dav formatted file, so handy and is so simple.

I found my self in trouble to convert .dav into .avi at first but then I realized that somebody needs to push the “rec/record” button to capture the demanding scene before converting the .dav itself. The sorce-target of converting tab would then be automatically active at the end of the recording process.
