creating image file without cd

hi all, hope this message finds everyone well

just wondering, i have recently downloaded fable, u probably saw my oold post, but i have heard of a way to install it, but it involves me copying lots for files onto a temp directory, putting them on a DVD and then creating an image, however, i dont have a DVD, and was just wondering if anyone knew of a way to create an image, with out putting it onto a cd first?

any help would be much appreciated.
