Double clicking on the first file and choosing winrar did the trick for me. Just thought I’d let you know that I appreciated your help wink

I see many of you guys have problems with playing movies and extracting them, so with this post I will tell you how to extract them easy.¨
1: Download a winrar program and install it
2: open winrar and find your movie with 50.rar’s
3: mark your rars like 50 rars and then extract them where you like them, the movie will be in avi file or something else if it’s svcd it will be in bin and cue files. I hope you can use this guide thx

It seems that all the explinations have been confusing and somewhat hard to understand. In the easiest and simplest way POSSIBLE, I will attempt to explain how to extract, burn, and/or play the files that have been downloaded.

1.) It is very helpful to have some type of file Archiving program. (allows u to extract and compress files) A good one to have is WinRAR. Here is a link to a download of it if you dont already have it: http://www.download.com/WinRAR/3000-2250_4-10350955.html?tag=lst-0-1 - this download is freeware, which mean it will expire. But you can download a unexpirable version from your favorite torrent website.

2.) After Archiving program is fully installed.
Those of you with those 50+ rar files, ALL YOU HAVE TO DO is select ONE (1) of the files. Right click on it and either click [extract here]= extracts files to current folder -or- [extract files...]= by default, extracts files to a folder within current folder. Either or, ALL the rar files are connected to eachother and by extracting the ONE (1), it will extract all the rest and put the contents together as ONE FILE.

2.5.) Most will result in Windows media file formats that can be watched with Windows Media Player. If it is a unrecognizable file type you can either 1. Let windows media search for appropiate codecs or 2. *Google* it and manually search for an appropiate codec. But most will play with WMP with the correct codec. And 3. download divx. That usually solves most problems.

3. When burning movies and such I find it easiest and less complicated when using a VERY simple program like Nero. With Nero Express you can pretty much burn anykind of file type to CD and DVD. Can even burn images to DVD’s also like CUE, ISO, BIN... These are just IMAGES of a CD or DVD and Nero burns that image to the media of your choice.

4. If you dont plan to burn your media and you have a bin, iso, or cue file, you can use another great and simple program to MOUNT these images to a VIRTUAL DRIVE= a drive that isn’t there but tells your computer that it is(for those who didn’t know). Alchohol 120% is the one I use but there are others. You can usually download a free copy from a torrent site of your choice aslo. Once the image is mounted to your virtual drive it usually starts playing automatically as if you just put a CD into your CD/DVD ROM drive. Long explanations but very simple!

I hope that I was able to break it all down in the simplest way possible. Most of the explanations on this forum is confusing and the submitters' expect you to already know the basics. Good Luck!

Guys...

Whenever I can’t identify a file (AVI) subtype, I simply open it in GSPOT video appliance...

The last location I found for it was

http://gspot.headbands.com

alternatively, you can search for GSPOT in google... but remember to add the words Video Appliance or else you can guess what happens.

when you mount the bin/cue image to the virtual drive it opens the contents in a folder. correct? what are the contents of that folder? (subfolders) sometimes you’ll get various folders but all depends... I’ve encountered some that have a CD, MPEGAV, VCD, EXT, and SEGMENT folders withing the image... if this is the case you then it IS a true image of a DVD and you’ll have to burn it to a CD or convert it to a more recognizable format (as mentioned in the post above this one). However there may be an alternative if you wish to watch it on your computer useing WMP... In the MPEG folder there is a DAT file. You can watch DAT files with WMP. I suggest, in this case, that you copy the DAT file to somewhere on your HD (preferably the Desktop) and open it using WMP. That simple! try it and let us know how it works, if it works of course.

*NOTE* One doesn’t “play” .sfv or .ssa files.

SFV(.sfv)= Simple File Verificator
SSA(.ssa)= Source Safe Archive

We generally see these file types when we have a large file that has been broken down into a bunch of smaller files making them easier to download. These file types tell your computer which files to account for when extracting.

Neither of which contain movie data.

>> Typically when you’ve downloaded a file that has no sound but video or the other way 'round, you may need the proper codec for your media player. And in almost ALL cases, if your player says that it cant play/recognize the file type you’ve downloaded a corrupt file...

By taking a shirt off ain’t enough. You have to undressed..that’s what winrar does. That is the answer to your question.
