I have a few files and they are tagged as .AVI' files they will play fine in windows media player but will not play in anything else. Any help on how to change the tag tried abcAVI Tag Editor but can’t seem to change it. Kind of a novice when it comes to this so easiest way is best.

download VLC http://www.videolan.org/vlc/ and play it whit what instead ?
for tag problems ?? dont know tags isen’t a problems for me when i see a movie
