.AVI giving "encountered an error" on all media players, tried new codecs HELP

I’ve installed and reinstalled divx, xvid, ffdshow, etc etc. I have installed new media players, nothing will fix.

ALL of my AVI files on ALL of my players are giving “X has encountered an error and needs to close”

I’m about to rip my eyes out, I can’t fix this for anything...

Please helpp!!!!

ALL of my AVI files on ALL of my players are giving “X has encountered an error and needs to close” Try to be more specific what X means? If you use WinXP you may restore your system to an earlier time check my posts from today.
