another bin/cue files problem

bigFootRegularAaron - that’s not gonna work (assuming I’ve understood correctly). You’re inevitably going to lose quality of picture, and probably also sound, if you want to fit a DVD’s worth of stuff onto a CD-R. Yes, you could in theory run a DVD-compatable (as in, including menus, optional subtitles etc.) off a CD rather than a DVD, but that takes up space (of which there is precious little on a CD anyway!) Plus, what’s the difference between that and an SVCD?
There is software out there... Blaze MP, among others (which I reckon is pretty good on the whole). Equally, you might as well just shrink it with a media editor, and then use UltraISO to add it to an image file (of whatever type you like - .bin/.cue, .iso, .mdf/.mds, etc.) That’s probably easier on the whole, assuming you’ve got the DVD itself anyway.

i do know that what dino says is correct. just use nero to burn image to a cd-r.. you save money because you dont buy a DVD and you save time because .bin & .cue files burning as an image burn much much faster 10 mins max

LarryBEntreeI have a movie which is in .bin and .cue format. I’ve burnt the .cue file to CD using Nero, which has resulted in a .mkv file. Windows Media Player only plays the audio part, the other DVD player on my PC nor the DVD player connected to the TV recognise it. What do I need to do now? Cheers.

hey guys
i know this may be annoying
but i have a movie that is divided into 3 cds
each cd is represented by a folder with the respective name of the cd i.e cd 1,cd 2,& cd 3
within each of these folders are around 52 compressed files approx. 14 mbs in size ending with the extension .rar & one .sfv file
in each of these compressed files are 1 x .bin & 1 x .cue files ( i know i can mount the .cue files in Daemon tools & watch them )
but the combined size of these COMPRESSED files in each folder is almost the max size of a standard cd-r. Is there a way to join all these DECOMPRESSED individual .cue files into one for each individual cd and be able to fit into a cd-r ?
thnks for any assitance given !

bigFootRegularThe .rar files are what’s called a spanned archive, and will give you one .bin and .cue file; the data of these individual files is stored across each of 51 .rar files. So just extract the first, and that’ll automatically use data from the others to give you the complete image.
Once you get the individual images, mount them with Daemon, or burn them with Nero.

yes, that works & i humbly thankyou for your assistance.
however I don’t quite get how decompressing the first .rar and mounting that .cue in each folder will end up with one large image of each cd ?
if im correct in saying, by mounting the first .cue & playing it; isn’t it “feeding” off the other compressed files in the spanned archive as the movie plays rather than creating a single image of all the combined .cue files ?

bigFootRegularSorry - badly explained.
In a spanned archive, when you open up any one of the however many (in your case 51) rar files per image, you’ll see the complete .cue file. However, what you’re in fact seeing is the single image file you would create if you extracted any given part. The resulting .cue/.bin pair has already drained the necessary information from all the 50 archives you didn’t extract, as well as the one you did, so that if you then mount the image and play the file, all it’ll read is the image itself. Once you’ve extracted the image, you have no further need of the archives you extracted it from.
So, in short, just extract one archive in a given folder, and you’ll have all the information for a complete image of that folder (i.e. that CD).
Since you have 3 CDs, the best thing is, therefore, to set the number of devices on Daemon Tools to 3 (via the taskbar icon next to the clock), extract the 3 images seperately, and then mount them all. Then, you can dispose of all of the spanned archive files.
The same applies if you want to burn - except burn the resulting images too.
Just in case your interested, the .sfv file you got with them is a file integrity checker. If you download QuickSFV, install it, and open that file, it’ll check the files you downloaded for errors, comparing them to how they were on the host machine. It’s a pretty nifty trick.
Hope this all helps. Post again if any problems...

Can Anyone Please Help Me - I just want to watch my Adobe Power Projects videos.
Hi. The Lexx very kindly said that the VLC media player will enable viewing of this file format - I’ve tried and it doesn’t. It pretends to start to open it but doesn’t quite get there.
I’ve burnt the files to disk (CD-RW) and it doesn’t play.
These are the files I have:
a-apcpp1 (BIN file)
a-apcpp1 (CUE file)
a-apcpp1sfv (SFV file)
If anyone more knowledgable than I can help I will be eternally grateful.
