THanks for the help so far but unfortunately its either me, and my limited knowledge in this area, but no-one has nailed the assistance re bin to avi transfer. The reason is I don’t want to burn the files onto DVD or CD but I want to store them on an external harddrive. THis comes with AVI and Divx reading software and plugs directly into your tv. Its a great bit of kit called “Freecom” and you can get a 400Gig one now.

Thanks in anticipation of help

Hello, I have burned the .cue image to cdr using nero but it will not play on anything. If I open the disk to view the files there are four different ones on it which are EXT, MPEGAV, SEGMENT and VCD. Please help, all I want to do is put a .cue file on disk so I can watch it on my dvd player.

I`ve downloaded a movie in bin/cue format and have no probs burning to disc, however, the size of the files are larger than disc capacity.
How do i split 2 cue files into 4?

Yoooooooooooow, Guys .bin/.cue, are originally
a vcd stream changed in to those 2 format’s of files so it can be exchanged throught the p2p network, in other word’s, when u restore those both of the files it will result a vcd disk, that naturally works on every single dvd or cd player, got it guys, most important, do not try to
restore the files in to the form of a data cd, go to nero and chose burn image option which will use the .cue file as a guide for restoring the data from the the stream file .bin, when the burning processes is done the result is vcd.

best of luck and thanx every one smiley

u can convert it in to an avi but that’s a pain in the ***.

any way’s if u must, first restore the image, cause as i’ve already explained it is originally a vcd stream changed, restore it in to a vcd or to hard drive, then goto nero vision, and import it from with in nero ....

here are the steps to import a disk :

1 - turn on nero startsmart

2 - goto the tap " photo and video”

3 - chose " make video cd”

4 - chose “import”

5 - chose the drive which has the cd in it.

6 - it will determine the file and it’s name
and location to be saved in.

7 - begin the process, but notice that the
result won’t be an .avi file but a .dat
file which can be used to make dvd’s or
can be converted to other format’s using
lot’s of converter’s

Best of luck every one smiley

The size of the image shows quite a lot bigger than the data it contains because of extra instructions for the burner/reader stored in the image file. Just burn as is suggested above, and that should work. If it genuinely is too large after all that, get a bigger disk - itll save you a lot of time in faffing about, and you wont have to sacrifice video quality.

for anyone that wants to know how to put ur bin files on dvd do this
get isobuster at www.isobuster.com
by installing the program it will turn all ur bin and cue files into isobuster cue files
then u open it then u clik on mpeg2 then u clik extract video files only
then make put in ur dvd or cd burner and burn that bitch.
Now if u try to put avi files onto a dvd u just a converter like dvd santa is good theres is also programs that automatically transfer the file to dvd regardless what it is and burn to dvd makin it easy. u can get one called avi divx mpeg to dvd converter. search google.com

Hey all if your wondering how to get bin/cue to dvd people have already gave some solutions

I downloaded a few movies and burnt them as bin/cue files to a cdr. I have 2 old dvd players so i knew they wouldnt play. I went out bought a dvd burner and some dvd’s and decided to convert my .dat file to dvd with winavi. Some movies worked, and some didn’t.

In fact I’ve had succsess with only two movies I burnt from a bin/cue to vcd then converted to dvd.

I decided to try vcd gear, converted the bin/cue to mpeg then to dvd and the vob file goes out of sync eventually on every movie. I have ran out of dvd’s through all the testing and succsess’s but I’m going to try converting bin/cue to .dat and then to dvd and tell you how it goes. I’m thinking that might work but who knows.

My best suggestion is just to get a new dvd player like I’m going to do. CD’s are cheaper and more people are just using that nowaday’s so yea

.cue files are used in image burning software to mount .bin files and burn to a CDR that WILL PLAY IN ANY DVD PLAYER. I also am looking for a conversion software that will turn my .avi files into .bin files myself. The reason for this is that you can fit a dvd compliable movie onto a cdr, which is much cheaper than a dvdr, and burn it in much less time while keeping the same original integrity. Does anyone out there know how to even originate a .bin file? Please post if you know!
