after installing the new KLite Mega Pack the fille association icon for VLC is broken

I am using Win2000 on a 753 MHz Athlon system. I updated to the latest Mega Pack last night, and since then all of my files (video) that I have had associated have been broken.

I should state that I accidentally forgot to disassociate Media Player from its default associated files, so it changed many of my files to those of Quick alternative and the default. This is as expected but now, even after corrrecting this mistake all VLC associated files display as the generic unknown file type icon.

I have:

-Manually reassociated file types through folder options... same result.
-Clean reinstall of VLC... same result
-Clean install of K Lite Mega Pack then VLC... Media Player with associations... same result.
-Clean install of K Lite Mega Pack then VLC... Media Player without associations... same result.
-Clean install of VLC Then KLite...same result.
-Clean install of VLC Then KLite and uninstall Klite...same result.

I of course have several types of restrats (including manual).

any advice or anyone else have this problem.

Same problem.. one way.. use the old one.. =__=''
