who knows how to convert .wmv to .mpg?

Try looking for a programme called “Avanced WMA workshop”- you can get a trial version free. Or use Something like Premiere/ movie maker?

I am also having trouble trying to find a freeware program that will convert my wmv files(2gb) to a format which can be played both on my computer as well as on my dvd player, as I am only a newbie I don’t understand the lingo for codecs etc but I followed the previous advice and downloaded the codecs now i just need to know where to go from here?:(

use WinAVI converter, its by far the fastest converter around and works with every format to every format provided you can play the file in windows media player (you need to have the right codecs) download a trial version then go to asta-la-vista.com and search for a serial number, theres one for 'alastair dalrymple' that works and gives you full access to all the programs features.

Read the howto’s for info on converting different codecs. But it is relatively easy.

I have looked and looked for a simple way to convert WMV to MOV, DivX or other formats and this is the best way.

I did everything you said. It seemed like it was working, but every time I pressed “encode”, it produced a file with 0 kb.

I tried converting .wmv to several types of .mov or .mpg.

Any tips? What am I doing wrong?

how to convert Quick time .mov files into .avi, .wmv, .mpg format without scratching the purse. I had tried some softwares....which are able to convert only 50% in the trial versiona dn i have to shell out a huge dollars if i wanna get it done fully. Can anyone suggest me a economical way.?
