One way..like picture sites that demand the wrong extension. Find the file and add the proper extension, such as .GIF to JPG.
Change your video NAME to end in .WMV
If that doesn’t work, then I have no idea. Had this program 3 years ago... Gave up on it myself! lol
So much for Youtube Hopes and Dreams!

Ok when using the windows movie make You have to save any video you edit or did on it by going to number 3 which is on the left hand panel in the movie task (3.finish movie ) its rigth under (2. edit movie) and click on the one that says save to my computer and when that opens and you choose where u wanna save the file if its either in the my vidoes folder or some place esle u have in mind. And then click continue and when its done saving it should play the video on the windows media player to let you see how the it turned out.
If when u finished editing and u went to file and used the save project it will not be the wmv file.Or if u closed the windows movies maker and it asked you if would u like to save and you clicked yes it wouldn’t be thats vmv format either trust me i did that and thats how i know.
Hope it helps.
hei. many days i spent my day to sit down in front of my computer for save video to wmv file. please help me. i use windows 7. there isn’t publish option in here. i had tried many ways.
thankyou.
does it say something like “try checking that the source files are still available and that you have enough space” or whatever? 'Cause that’s happening to me too T_T I’m about ready to fucking shoot out the monitor or something.... 'Cause I know the fucking files are still there & there’s PLENTY of space on my drive.
You want the menu File....Publish Movie.... and then I clicked publish movie to my computer. It then saved it as a WMV file which I was able to use.
If you have Win 7 and the live movie maker. if you look at the top right corner there is a save movie option click on that click on wmv and voila theres a movie.
Yah, and for publishing to YouTube or else, you’ll need to setup accessrights for Live MM before continueing.
Ok not being a jerk but alot of us are having the same issue on here and i want to be clear. We either cannot use or donot want to use movie maker at all but we need a way to convert the movie maker project file (.mswmm) to anything able to upload or burn like AVI or WMV ect.... So once again we need to do this WITHOUT even opening windows movie maker.
reasoning behind this is because either wmm freezes or gives the error message about not having enough space or original file gone. So something in wmm is glitched. Thats why we need a way around the movie maker. Just need a converter that will convert the .mswmm files to something else.
urgh...that’sa bummer.........you can switch on virttni when using mm.I do that, but you have to purchase it...I bought it for about...$230
wow!thanks a lot! it helped me! with so many hours searching for the solution..at last! I found it!
Go to your movie
Click on file ( at the top) the drop down bit
click on SAVE MOVIE NOT PROJECT! Then click on the reccomended setting, save it, and it automatically saves as a WMV doc!
Hope this helps!
