Awesome! Thanks for the tip (by anonymous). I had made a movie and then couldn’t send it out because it wouldn’t play on my Windows Media Player. Followed your advice and viola'.... really do appreciate the help.
i made a movie on windows movie maker aswell but when i try to upload it to youtube it says it needs to be a wmv file. all i did was make the movie and go file>save movie file to my computer and attempt to put it on youtube.. any way i can change my movie to a wmv movie??

On the WMM screen go to TOOLS, then at the bottom click on Options, click the Compatibility tab, remove the checks from every box, click OK. This worked for me after hours of having the screen freeze. Maybe MS should make this the default setting.
To those who have tried to help, thanks, but I have a different issue. When I try to save a project as a movie file (ie. avi or mpg...even wmv) I receive an error message requesting I make sure the files are still available and that there’s enough disk space. The files are still there and there’s more than ample disk space, but I still receive the error message.
Here’s the kicker... I AM able to save it using the DV-AVI option as a MASSIVE .avi file but all of my transition effects are replaced by a basic left to right screen wipe! I’ve tried everything from a supposed fix program called WinFF which doesn’t even create a fixed file to installing the Windows Media Encoder Package, but nothing has resolved this issue.
Any ideas anyone?
Go to file, then save movie file (click it of course) then pres my computer in that box. Name it whatever you please and undereath it, make sure it places in desktop. Press “best quality for playback ..." and allow it to convert... Done then just upload it on youtube ans viola! its done XD
My version requires selecting the option Publish and then Publish to this computer. This will convert your WMM to WMV.
under the finish movie on the left save your video there and it will save as wmv i just did it lol
I have converted to wmv but the video clip I have in the movie I made doesnt play in my movie it just shows the image that is first on the video file

Yea, we know, the same crap that even RETARDS can do!!! What we NEED is SOMETHING that’ll let us CONVERT WSWMM files to .wmv files WITHOUT Windows Movie Maker!!! Got any “useful” things for THAT? In case you STILL can’t get it through your thick skull: WE NEED SOMETHING TO CONVERT WSWMM TO WMV BEFORE WE BITE SOMEONE’S HEAD OFF!!!!!! Yes, the same problem is happening with me. Guess what? I recorded a video of the video playing on the computer on my phone, uploaded it to WMM, and tried to publish THAT to my computer, but the dang thang STILL wouldn’t save!! Once again, do you have any flippin' “useful” things for THAT??!!

yea, THANKS for all the “help”!! That’s one of the FIRST things i tried!!! Sorry if I sound harsh or mean, guys, but, as you can probably tell, I’m getting REALLY ticked off at this thing!!
When I push “Save movie file” it just stand and load for about 3 hours, and then says that it can’t ..
