.mpg to .mov on the mac

Can someone please tell me how to convert a mpg video file to an mov file. I recently purchased a mac and i have the quicktime 7 upgrade but it’ll play the file but there is no audio. How can i convert my files? Plz plz plz help!

Download and install MPEG Streamclip. The free program can be obtained directly from the software developer, Squared 5.

Open MPEG Streamclip. Go to the “List” tab on the program menu and select “Batch List." The “Batch List” window will appear. Click the “Add Files” button and locate the MPG files in the file-selection window. Select the items and click the “Open” button to import the media into the program. A file-export programming window will appear.

Open the “Please choose a task” drop-down menu and select the desired output format for the merged MPG files. Make sure the “Join all the files” box is checked. Click “OK." A “Browse for Folder” window will appear.

Target a saving location for the merged MPG files. Click “OK." Apply any custom settings in the “Movie Exporter” window and click the “To Batch” button to export the video with the merged MPG files. A confirmation message will appear when the media is available in its targeted saving location.

not working for me, It’s asking me to download and instal the mpeg-2 playback component. it doesn’t allow me the option to click the join.. so bummed

you can convert video to flv format using Macvide VideoFlash Converter macvide. com .It’s really cool thing.

Hi guys. This is really helpful except I can’t get it to work, once installed it seems it wants me to open .mov files which is exactly what I don’t have hence I needed this -what am I doing wrong please??? thanks a lot

Get “Format Factory” for mac, it’s far better and quicker. Also free.
If using Mac.

They also have AnyVideoConverter for mac as a free download, and it does pretty well. Not always spot on, but most of the time.
