Hello,
Maybe you can try “MKV to AVI Converter” which can convert MKV to AVI DivX XviD. and it only costs $29.99.

Ok, I’m not all that computer savvy, but if your problem is at all similar to the one I had, I might be able to help. Whenever I tried loading my track 1, I got this.
“Couldn’t locate decompressor for format 'XVID' (unknown). VirtualDub requires a Video for Windows (VFW) compatible codec to decompress video. Direct Show codecs, such as those used by Windows Media Player, are not suitable. Only 'Direct stream copy' is available for this video."
If that’s your problem, then try downloading a codec for h264 and see what happens. But seriously, your guess is as good as mine on this, so if I’m wrong, I’m sorry.

MKVextractGUI and the other program and put them both in the same folder. Extracted the video I wanted into that folder and I have ended up with several files:
Track1.avi
Track2.srt
Track3.srt
Track4.ogg
Track5.ogg
Now what do I do?
I get “Couldn’t locate decompressor for format 'XVID' (unknown). VirtualDub requires a Video for Windows (VFW) compatible codec to decompress video. Direct Show codecs, such as those used by Windows Media Player, are not suitable. Only 'Direct stream copy' is available for this video." when I try to put it on VirtualDub.
I use mkvmerge and merge all those files I listed above and rename it to .avi and it does nothing.
I put the file from Directvobxub into the vdub plugins folder and renamed it but the subtitle thing doesn’t work because I cant load the video.
The little popup said that the MKV splitter unicode thing was succesful.
This is getting me really aggrivated.
sry for triple posting, here are some screenshots I took.

the problem here isnt matroska (.MKV) ... its this fucking atrocious codec incuded in it ... h.264_avc
ive played many matroskas on VLC player no problem ... until some wise-ass fuckhead at hentaiparadise.net started using avc video codecs in all the torrents and has crippled my pc
so anyone know how to demux .mkv without linux tools and recode AVC ? or are just a bunch of happy asses eager to point out “mkv is not avi dude haha"
hey guys, i was just reading over the forum here, and i actually have (probably a stupid) question. i just got a file thats in .mkv and i was wondering if there was a program to convert it just for viewing pleasure, nothing to do with editing. thanx 4 the help n advance
