How to convert .mkv file to .avi file?

All I see is that MKV files are way more trouble then they are worth. Why on earth use a file format that is not supported by a majority of the existing programs and requires specialized programs to try and extract the video which then puts you in a position of having to use VDub to put it all back together again. Ridicules. reply

Rename the files from .mkv to .avi
Ex.

Movie1.mkv >Right click > Rename > Movie1.avi reply

Hi,, I am afraid that you need a third party program to help you to transcode your MKV videos to AVI. There are many softwares on the market,such as brorsoft.Google it to get more inormation. Good Luck! reply
