Convert *.ram to anything

Page 1 of 51 3 4 last »

I have a bunch of *.ram files. They are 1Kb and contain a link to a *.rm file on the net somewhere. The files are Audio and video. Is there a way to convert these files to anything like *.wmv *.avi or *.mpg?

THanks in advance - ZakRL reply

you cannot convert these files because you do not have them yet in your HD. You will know that you have them in your HD if you can play them offline.

The program you need to rip the files to your hard drive is called streambox. It allows you to save the movie to your hard drive then you can convert it. :)

I use EO-Video for converting the files. It is simple to use if you don’t know any advanced techniquess for converting.

Real player normally doesnt let you save the files to disk when you open them so the only way i know of to do this is as follows.

1) Open the RAM file and grab the URL from it.
2) Open notepad and create a line with (My File

3) Save the file as test.html
4) Open it in internet explorer, and right click the link
5) Select “save target as..."

Repeat ad-nausium for all your *.RAM files. reply

Step 2 didnt come out right...
Try this, but replace ( and ) with the normal HTML tag brackets.

2) Open notepad and create a line with (A HREF=" -- Inser URL from RAM file ---") My File (/A)

The easiest way is to open the *.ram file with notepad. Then copy the link, paste into your browser and choose to save the *.rm fiel to disk and you’re done. reply

Here is what I did...

I use Mozilla primarily, so I opened Mozilla then...
1) Edit -> Preferences
2) Navigator -> Helper Applications
3) Select Audio/x-pn-realaudio
4) Edit
5) Check the “Always ask” box
6) Save

Then, Just paste the .rm address into the URL address box, and I get to save the file to hard drive.

Hope this helps someone. reply
