I just rename them from a .rar / .zip to .iso but make sure it actually changes the format not just makes it blablabla.iso.zip k! Try that, has worked for me in the past i think. reply

That really works? changinng the extension? I thought it would make errors, because the extension tells the computer what program to use, it shouldn’t change the format alltogether. reply

WOW dont listen to that guy he doesnt no what he is talking about. Why in the world would u have to change a .bin or.cue file to a .iso. A .bin and .cue files is a image just like .iso Go to image burning point to the .cue file and it tells your burner what, and how to burn the .bin which is the image of the original disk.

NEVER change any extensions on any file it will corrupt them and make fatal errors. There are programs that change .zips into other formats like .rar or .iso changing the extension just confuses your computer to think its one thing in which it is not. reply

"NEVER change any extensions on any file it will corrupt them and make fatal errors” Oops! Sometimes from a download site you may get files in a different extension for whatever reason how they deal with the legal issues and WinRar won’t find them so you have to rename from a .doc or so to zip or rar and this won’t make any damage to the file just help WinRar to find it and decompress it.When you open WinRar be sure you select all the file and extract to wherever you like desktop or folder. If after extraction you get a pair of cue/bin file keep them in the same place cue is just a command for the bin.If you get an avi file you may watch it on computer with the right player and please for this use video analyser like AviCodec or GSpot. If you want to burn the file cue/bin is ready for that also iso for avi you have to convert it to cd or dvd with any converter you like.http://avicodec.duby.info/ reply

Ok open WinRar is easy but first put the folder you have on desktop so you can see it.Open WinRar and on address bar click on Desktop and is going to list what you have on desktop.Find your folder and double click on it or right click and View Files. With the files listed click right and select all or just highlite all or just go on top menu to file and find select all and click on Extract to and choose Desktop again and after unzipping the files you may get a cue and bin or just an avi file.If your folder has to cds do it for each cd.Good Luck reply

i dl 24/7 and never and i mean never have i got a file that had the wrong extension. U make no sense whatsoever if you change lee.txt to lee.rar winrar will do Nothing. what is it decompressing when it is not even compressed. Thank about it. Yes u can change the extension to whatever u want but a .zip file is a .zip file no matter what extensions u use. Try to change.txt or .doc or anything u like and see if it works. Trust me dude dont listen to him except the post above me is the only one hes made any sense on. reply

If you have a pair of cue AND bin keep them in the same place open Nero SmartStart go to copy and backup and choose burn image to disc point it to the cue and is going to burn the bin, and relax you have a cd to watch. If is an avi the story is longer but is late so 99 and good luck. reply

This is for Lee 420 and I can tell you I make a lot of sense.I’m a 56 year old computer tech and I started to work when you were playing with your toys in kindergarden. My only problem is ESL but about computer trust me:I’ve download songs named .doc as a WinOffice 2000 file to trick the server and WinRar won’t find it as a doc so you have to rename it in order to decompress it so I think I was right first time and I’ll be untill I’m going to give you a site to download what I’m talking about.Have fun kido and learn how to spell respect. reply

Programer so you dont no shit compared to my level. First you still make no sense, you download a song with the extension .doc which is not a compressed file to begin with nor is any song which should have the extension mp3,mp4, and a few other extensions but none of them would open with winrar. They are media files that are not compressed and Winrar is a decompressing program that only sees these ext. Rar,Zip,Cab,Arj,Lzh,Ace,7-Zip,Tar,Gzip,Uue,Bz2,Jar,Iso, and z. And i dont need a lame ass site when i can just go limewire or any other p2p and download songs in the correct format as will as games. So you are crazy ass hell and full of hot air. reply

sorry to have to solve all of this for you two, but a file extension does not really matter. true programs look at the header of files to tell what type of file it is. to prove this open up a hex editor and google. Google will tell you what hex values represent what type of files. not all programs read off the header though, some read off the extension. and yes this answer is coming from a former Best Buy tech, so please, watch what you say about them. reply
