VLC is excellent for watching video, but not burning. If you have a dvd burner, use a video converter, I use ConvertXtoDVD, drag your movie file in, click convert and let it run, make sure you have a blank dvd in you burner. Hope this helps you.
The movies need to be converted to avi first, and then you can burn them to dvd.
The best program I have ever used to convert a movie from ANY format, to a burnable dvd format that will play on any dvd player, (or xbox) is called Convertxtodvd.
You can pay for it and download/install it, or you can download it from a torrent site and use the keygen provided to install on your hd.
( go to www dot vso-software dot fr/products/convert_x_to_dvd )
There is another program, a free program that a friend of mine swears by that does the same thing (he says) as convertx, and its is called Video Joiner.

Personally, Convertxtodvd is the best one of the bunch, and if you can afford it, buy it and download it. If you cant afford it, find a safe torrent website and download and install it.
It is...THE BOMB!!
My avi movies were somehow all changed showing the little vlc cone icon. I was successful and they played on my computer. Will they play in a dvd player? I am getting a divx player in a couple of days and don’t want to burn anymore for fear I will be wasting dvds.
So far I see lots of questions but no answers. So to the people who say they are not computer savy, I guess ther’s a lot of people like that because no one has offered any solutions to your questions.
