How do I get my DVD'S onto my comp?

posted in DVD Burning, viewed 44k times

Hopefully someone can help me. I have quite a few DVD’s I’d like to store on my computer but I have no idea how to get them on to it. I only have CD-RW on my comp so I know I’ll have to buy external add-ons. That’s not a problem, the problem is that I have no idea what I need to to buy. I’d just like to be able to pop a regular store bought DVD into the tray, watch it on my comp and save it in a movie folder on my hard drive when I’m done. Is it possible to do this?
Thanks in advance for anyone taking the time to respond. reply

That’s all and well when you have a PC, but what about a Mac? How do I get it onto my hard drive? And can you be a little more detailed, please? I’m really knew at this, and I haven’t really picked up on everything yet...namely the lingo.

Thanks! reply

You can use DVD ripper software to help you do this. You can use aimer soft dvd ripper to rip dvds to computer, it can bypass all kind of dvd copyright protection schemes and save the movie to computer in reuglar video formats, keep the original video and audio quality

you cant just add the files from a dvd to your computer.. the disc is copy protected..
otherwise people would just be renting films and copying them like noones business..
you need a programme to take the copy protection off the disc.. reply
