hello.. I need help about my videos in MP4 format which I convert from matroska using handbrake. I need to burn them in a 4.7gb DVD-R in order to play to dvd player but our Dvd player only plays video in MPeg format. The prob is that when I tried to convert the videos from matroska to MP4 to Mpeg the videos becomes “choppy” and its really a hassle to me doing conversion all day. And now i heard about this DVdflick application which is said that it can convert any video format into Dvd, I download it but I dunno how to use it properly plus the video becomes more bigger in size. I need to burn atleast 25-50episodes (24mins/ep) in a 4.7gb DVD-R, is it possible?? without losing the quality of the video? I don’t have enough knowledge about bitrate and something like that but please help me and give guide on what will I do. Thank you.. reply

I have ADD and can not seem to absorb the ntmorpait things I read. I cannot stay focussed when reading learning materials. I can read a fictional book and remember enough to tell most of the story, but when it comes to educational things I cannot even remember two minutes later. You mention you have ADD, please tell me how you overcame it to learn how to put these educational tools to work for you. I also do not believe in myself enough, but I am working on it.Thanks for your inspiration,CatReply from CharlesHello Cat, I say I did have ADD. And I have helped myself dramaticly and I will tell you how. First off y ADD is not a bad thing. Lots of very successful people have it. People that have ADD just happen to think differently than everyone else and sometimes we tend to annoy the hell out of people. But that makes us successfull often. Anyway what has helped me is Speed reading. get speed reading software it will help you dramaticly when it comes to reading comprihention and comprehending anything. I use a softrware from I Q and it works great. seconnly you need to avoid all fast food and greesy foods. You also need to eat food with lots of omega fatty acids. I take Udos oil pills everyday they have the proper ballance of all 3 omega faty acids. also I take weet grass pills everyday and acai berry powder. all this together will help you dramaticly and you may start feeling like you no longer have ADD. please excuse all my grammmer mistakes but I’m on my laptop without spell check and my staff isnt editing this post. reply

Well, MKV is not a well-meaning guy (few player can play it, and most DVD burner like iDVD and Toast cannot recognize .mkv files).

If you want to burn a HD .mkv file to DVD, you could try this stey by step guide on how to burn mkv to dvd Mac (Lion included).

Hope it helps, good luck! reply

I use these speakers when trliealvng to listen to music, audiobooks or radio (via internet). The sound is surprisingly good and I don’t mind that it draws down the power on the iPod. It’s usually easier and cheaper to find a power outlet to recharge the iPod. Batteries are expensive and disposing of them responsibly is hard. The sound is loud enough. If I know I’ll need more power I sometimes teach from my iPod I use powered speakers. reply

Your Remix work is great. I’m an educator and rellay want to use some of this with my middle and high school students because I think it makes some points rellay well and should get some good discussions going. Would you consider publishing a version of Part 2 without the reference to torture porn? That reference sadly makes it impossible for any right-minded educator to show it to students. reply

As a child growing up in Singapore, my faethr would pull his lovingly collected nature books and poems from the shelves of our study and read me a woodland poem by Robert Frost or a fairytale, and juxtapose it with facts and pictures about the natural world. Though we lived on the equator and were surrounded by tropical weather, on those nights, my imagination came alive with the woodland autumns, haystacks, soaring mountains, undulating hills and gurgling brooks in temperate countries far away. The magic of woodland forests lived in my mind, while in our tropical paradise I had the joy of playing in jungles full of lush raintrees and ferns, watching ants and other insects wind their way up the trunks of trees, and finding orchids and glistening spiderwebs among the tall grass. reply

The problem with burning mkv to dvd with dts audio, is that the dts audio doesn’t fare well in the conversion process. I have always had to convert the dts to dd 5.1 with the newest version of convertxtodvd, because if you don’t do that, the DTS has annoying cuts and breaks on the finished dvd. Hopefully VSO will find a way to correct that, but as of right now, I have yet to convert a dts audio track in a movie successfully from MKV, unless the image I’m burning is straight vob or a iso dvd file. This may be because the superiority of DTS is largely based off the absence of compression. It also takes more disc space to achieve DTS, than DD does, which is compressed. reply
