I have a number of CDs which contain quicktime vids. My Creative mp3 player supports mpeg. Hence I need a converter.

I need to put a short video clip (45 seconds) online as part of a web survey and I need to know WHICH FORMAT WILL LIKELY ALLOW THE LARGEST NUMBER OF PEOPLE TO EASILY ACCESS IT (without a lot of extra steps)...MPEG-4 OR WMV.

I’ve heard mixed reviews and I am a bit of a novice in this area.

Once again, once you’ve got the right codecs (mute point really as this IS a codecs forum - bust ask if you don’t know), you can use AllToAvi (http://alltoavi.sourceforge.net/index.php) to convert it.

This will give you an .avi file whic is then compatible with windows too.

You PC apologists are showing your ignorance with your misguided insistence that Windows Media Player offers better quality. You are obviously NOT in the biz. Quicktime works on PC, too. You shoudl all download it and hush up.

I HAVE FOUND A SOLUTION FROM SOME AMAZING GUY WHO POSTED IT ON A WEBSITE. IT IS A CONVERTING SYSTEM THAT WILL CONVERT .MOV TO .AVI FILES WHICH ARE RECOGNIZED! BUT PLEASE NOTE YOU NEED DIVX FOR THE SOUND TO CONVERT INTO HIGH QUALITY! TO FIND THE CONVERTER SEARCH BINK AND SMACLER INTO GOOGLE - FIRST LINK. FOR DIVX VISIT DIVX.COM TO DOWNLOAD THERE CODEC. IT SHOULD BE FAIRLY STRAIGHT FORWARD THEN!!!

When you save your QuickTime movie save it as default settings but using the Cinepak compressor. Your PC friends should be able to view it then on their PC QTime
