I have run Premiere Pro 7.0 and 1.5 on my PC and they work great with one minor glitch. When I play the video in the source monitor the clips I import run fine but when I play the timeline in the program monitor, which is the edited final copy, it drops frames, stutters and skips on the video portion only, audio sounds fine.

Adobe has a fix for the 6.0 version but not for these. I have a P4 3.2 Ghz processor and 1.5 gig of ram, so its not the PC performance. Anyone have any clues??

the video in the timeline could have not been rendered so it could be “ticking” cause of the that

Hey everybody

The stuttering problem on playback is due to the playback settings.

Go to
Project>Project Settings>playback settings>
switch the desktop display mode to USE GDI and you will notice a big difference!

My video clips load fine into the program (PPro). It plays in the single preview monitor but it’s not the same for the timeline. Nothing shows on the main monitor. Had my settings to 'Use GDI” but nothing’s changed.

thnks

I’ve had the exact same issue, you can play the clips you want to import but cant actually see them when added to the timeline but does have audio. Bit annoying as you kind of need that.

I’ll set to the GDI and let you know how i get on.

I’m on the tryout version with intent to upgrade to a purchased/full version - shouldnt make a difference as the tryout is unlimited access (for 30 days).

Have tweaked the settings under
Project > Project Settings > General > {Playback Settings...}
but still not getting the results I’m after.

Any more ideas please?

Hi, i have a question. When i have my final draft of my movie, how do I save it to a video format, so I can play it or burn it on DVD so I can watch it later on? Any ideas?

Thank you,
-Kai

Using 1.5...I’ve imported mpg2 files...the audio plays fine in the source window but not once I’ve added the clip to the timeline...it builds an audio track, but there is no sound (or even a waveform). any ideas?
