Marina Guest | Do you have windows vista? Maybe you’re not using the proper version of MtvConverter. Try with this:
http://www.extern-biosoft.com/2008/01/mtv-video-converter-112.html
Anyway, I tried and even when the mtv file is generated my mp4 says “Unknown format”...but it could be my player.

geminiguy Guest | I really feel as though I’ve been ripped off. I bought my son a Coby multi media player last year, and the only thing we can use it for is music and picture files. The vid is useless since I cannot use any of the conversion software, as we only use Linux.
Would have been nice to know there is absolutely no way to utilize this feature, cuz I would not have wasted the money.
I bought my daughter a Tiger MiniMedia last year as well, but we can use the vid on that because there is a free online conversion to .amv I can use “called media convert”
I’m really angry about this useless mtv format and I want my money back, and I will fight coby for it (and then some) This mtv format should be discontinued and any and all people who were suckered into purchasing devices which only support mtv should get their money back.

Bubi Guest | I had the same Problem (convert to .mtv). Than i tried out the MTV Video Converter version 1.12.11 and it didnt worked. But i also did try the version 1.11.4 and for some reason it worked. So i guess it depends on the player who need´s a specific converter. Also you must take care of the Settings 160x128, sports and good for example.

Bubi Guest | Suggestion about the “unknown format”. I had that as well. cause i started it from the quick menu. when i was going all the way from the mainmenu where you can choose Musik Video E-book, etc. it worked. i just choosed the Video icon, searched for the file and it played. Other possibility can be that you converted it into the wrong size. Look in the manual what resolution the player has, or google it. Or try another converter. Like i wrote before, i needed to use an older version of the converter. or.. or.. or.. it took me a long and hard way to make my player play the videos. They are just too sensible... but they work... all it takes is finding the right way. Dont give up, be patient...
