Mosaic removal
Reconstruct the original face in a video

To prevent identification, a face is often reduced to a mosaic. This is done in a section of the original video.
It is possible to see the face a little better, by squinting the eyes, but this is not what this idea is about.
When the person is talking, they tend to move about a little, and the mosiac changes colour slightly. Using the positional data, and the change in colour of the mosaic, it should be possible to reconstruct an improved resolution of the face. Similar, I suppose, to progressive scan technology.
So my advice to those anonymous informants: keep still on camera. And censorship of smutty films might be a thing of the past (unless they use “blur”. Not that I have watched them or anything.....

You can buy a box in japan to removal the mosaic and then re-record the video. However it’s about 200 dollars to buy. If you want to watch AV with no mosaic try Samurai series of movies or Asian/Tiger eyes.

“Censored” and “Decensored”



The laws in Japan prohibit the display of genitals, hence the “mosaic” censor seen in most of our movies. When you see the term “decensored”, this means the mosaic has been digitally removed from the video, and there may be artifacts (slightly jagged edges, for example) where the mosaic used to be. This process is not ours to use, and those who can are only able to use it on movies from select companies. You will not see many “decensored” versions of movies from larger JAV companies.

Thanks MiguelinJapan, but my movie files are not on DVD. They are on HDD.
Any other suggestions? Some software somewhere that can do the job?

dedicated hardware is the only to do it. But if you have loads of money I know someone who could do it in photoshop.

No software available and hard work with photoshop or gspot with very low quality results.
maybe if you have any HD player can use the removal machine but it depends also of what kind of video file you have avi,mpeg1... of course best result whith MPEG2 bla,bla....here high quality DVDs, low prices , covers printed, and fast delivery www.aventertainments.com

I have seen videos that definitely have had the mosaic removed. It looks as though a circular magnifying type software device removed these pixels, seems the girls are slightly magnified in parts....I wonder what has done this =oP the example I found was on edonky entitled
CD girls - Sybian - Tawnee Stone 10,468,223 (1) (1).mpg it’s not really of tawnee stone ha ha, it’s an asian girl, however, look closely and you will see the circular distortion. Cheerio.

I just wanted to suggest that an enterprising bilingual japanamerican might could make a good deal of money marketing these devices in the US. Japanese porn is superior in everyway to american porn except for the Damn mosaics.
