Hi can anyone here help me with the most frustrating of errors i use tmpgenc 3xpress with great results until only recently i have had problems converting some avi files to dvd format with the error message invalid sample format with a series of numbers next the it what does this mean?.
I have all the codecs including direct show multi file readder and divx codecs and xvid.
When i try to render it useing tmpgenc 2.5 plus it only encodes the video not the audio so perhaps the problem is more to do with the audio although my windows media player plays back the file with audio so why do i have problems with conversion.
Am having exactly the same problems - any thoughts?
hi, why not have a try on WinAVI Video Converter which can be got from http://www.winavi.com/video-converter.htm
I think I found the answer to this problem. It is because you are converting movies that use the AC3 codec. If you extract the ac3 using VirtualDubMod, then use PX3’s AC3 to WAV to convert the ac3 to mp3, then use the mp3 file as audio source. (note: when converting to mp3, output will not have a file extension. You must type in the mp3 file ext.) Also, if you are converting to dvd (not svcd or vcd) then you do not need to convert the extracted ac3 file to mp3. Simply save it, and use it when dvd authoring.

I had this problem and fixed it by removing an ac3 filter.
I am using the Ace mega codec pack.
Using the ace dashboard, this is in the filter section, AC3 filter audio decoder 1.01a file AC3filter.ax.
I got the file name from Gspot.
Remove it using ace or use Gspot to change the merit so that it wont be used.
You can use Intervideo,Intervideo audio decoder 5.3.5.20 file Iviaudio.com or
Moonlight odio dekoda 1.26b4 file mlcom.ax.
Nero came with Nero digital audio decoder, file neaudio.ax. This also works.
Ace says that the moonlight is poor quality so I am using intervideo.
I have been receiving the error as well. I did confirm that on the files that i had a problem with the ac 3 codec was used. i tried to go into gspot and change the merit, but i only guessed on how to do that. then when i tried to convert the file again i received an error message saying that the file was an unsupported file type. can anyone else help with this!!
i am using k-lite codec pack by the way!
Thanks
I did all that. I installed ACE database and intervideo codec is activated. I deactivated AC3 codec and now provides the following error.

I have GSpot but i have no idea how to 'change the merit'. Can someone give me tips on how to do this?
More simple option : Update the codec... !!
Use this link : http://www.free-codecs.com/AC3_Filter_download.htm
Install the codec and voilà ! No more problem.
Works just fine with me.
The problem is indeed an audio one. Convert the audio from the video into wav format (you can use an audio editing program, such as using cool edit pro.) Then use that file as the audio source for encoding. Problem solved. Keep it simple.
