Might sound strange but I have a sony dsc-n1 with 3” screen that plays mpeg-1 files. I wanted to convert current video clips such as avi from my comp and send them to my memory card to watch on the camera screen. Do you know if this is possible? I’ve tried and failed, think its something to do with the .thm file or could be the bitrate etc for the camera that I need to set. Thanks a lot, any advice would be appreciated. Luce

Try the tool that everyone else is using, VideoDub. Just look online for an AVI to MPEG-1 converter (best to take a look at the file extension of the file that the digital camera and search for a converter from avi to <the file extention>wink. Then once it’s an MPEG-1, use Video dub and open the original, file->clip properties and write down the info about hte original, then open the newly mpeged avi file and set it to the same as the stuff you wrote down. Redub it (i think it’s just save mpeg or something like that) and then try it. It may or may not work, i’m still trying to get mine, this is just want I beleive is what you do, i’m stuck behind an error with my asf files. Hope it helps.

Or Advanced X Video Converter (http://www.aoamedia.com/videoconverter.htm).I realy enjoyed the ease of use of this product.

Lauch the program > Add Task > All to MPEG-1/MPEG-2 > Select source avi files and output location. It’s done!
