Having trouble rendering 16:9 ratio video clips

I’m having trouble rendering 16:9 ratio clips in Adobe Premiere 6.0. I drag the clip to the timeline>right click>video options>maintain aspect ratio.
If you do not know, this is how you set a clip to wide screen.
The clip will play fine with out skipping before rendering but after rendering or exporting the movie the quality sucks and it skips.
