The video converter in my signature is a nice choice. :-)
It can convert .rmvb to .avi.

Other supported video format:
MOD/MKV/WMV/TS/M2TS/AVI/MOV/MEPG/MP4/3GP/FLV/RM/TP/TRP...

@Phdynamic - it may not be working because you’ve got the reallib folder in the wrong place. After 2 hours of frustration, I realized that I had been putting the reallibs folder in /[user]/Library/Application Support/ffmpegX/ instead of where it really needs to be:
/Library/Application Support/ffmpegX/

thanks a lot. i’ve tried all the solutions. this one beats them all. ffmpegx lagged each time i dragged the rmvb file into it, and the steps that it took to even try getting it to work are too lengthy. i do not think this program works for leopard (i’m on 10.5.7). kigo is the way to go.

You may try this video converter for mac, my friends recommend it to me. It can help you convert video/audio formats: wmv, 3gp, 3g2, mov, vob, mpg, asf, flv, avi , rm , rmvb, mp4, mkv, t od, mod, it’s safe and works pretty well for me, I think it deserves for a try.

Hope it helps. Contact me if you have any other question

Yeah, great recommendation. Only problem is it can not actually handle rmvb!! May use it for other conversions though...
