converting .mov files

This is great for you PC users, but what about transferring .mov (apple) to .wmv (Microsoft) River Past software isn’t usable to us. Anyone know what mac based software will transfer .mov to .wmv I just bought Quicktime Pro and it doesn’t convert to .wmv for Windows Media Player. What a waste of $$$

Hi just got QuickTime pro, looks good but whan I try to convart mpeg to .mov it dosen’t let me to include sound - does anybody knows how to fix that?

As Mac user try WMV 9 Export Component. A Google search of this name will get you the url.
Has received some excellent reviews in various music magz. And to top it off - it is Freeware.

Another option which is also popular is Flip 4 Mac. However, unlike the Popwire product, this costs US $99. You may try the demo version - but the demo is limited to about 10 seconds. Nevertheless, it is very popular with mac users.

I just bought a Kodak CX7530 camera. When I download a movie to my computer it will play the first time, but the next time I try to play the it plays for a few moments and then the screen turns green. Anyone seen this before? Any suggestions?

I cannot email my video clips from my Casio Exilim digital camera. They are saved as AVI files. When I try to send them by Real Player through email, I get a message that says there are no updates for AVI files. Can someone tell me what I need to do to be able to email these video clips successfully? Thanks.

HI, i’m chilean, and i got some codecs to convert mov files to others formats, like avi or wmv, and i tried with RadTools and it was great!!!! and also tried with QuickTime Alternative 1.63, and it worked awesome too!!! well, that’s all, and i searched in google that kien of codecs and utilities.... it was great.... thank you guys!!!!!!!!

I have a Nikon Coolpix 5600.
It stores the movies in a .mov-file.
Now I’d like to convert them so that I can burn the file on a cd and look at it using my stand-alone-dvdplayer. It’s a Pioneer DV380.
I’ve tries RAD, but it doesn’t work, sounds is scrambled.
Any suggestions?

My stupid Kodak camera is holding videos of my precious 4 month old baby girl hostage!!! I desperately want to e-mail them to friends and family but they are in the cursed .mov format! how to convert .mov files

i used the RADTools with a qmove of 40 MB and the result was an avi file of 2 GIGAS!!!!! maybe i did something wrong, otherwise it wouldn’t be useful getting monstruous avi files from small qmovs.

The problem I find with my Kodak MOV files is that upon converting to a DivX Avi file, no matter what I make the final frame rate, the movie stutters... as in some frames which were once smoothly running as a MOV file now get dropped in the avi file (or mpeg file, or raw avi, or any other file type I choose to convert to.)

I’ve used River Past, Bink and Smacker, but neither correct the problem. They both convert 24 and 25 fps MOV files without problem... seems to be the stupid 15 fps of the Kodak files that blows. Anyone got a way to get the files converted in a silky smooth fashion?

I just tried it. It worked great. No problem with either video or audio conversion. Even the size of the final AVI file is about the same as the original MOV.
