Hey i use “WinAVI Video Converter” it has everything.. conversions both ways. from avi to vob, then just make a dvd using nero or something, drag in the files that winavi converted, and you have your self a dvd of the avi movie.. takes about 40 mins to convert a 1hour30min avi to VOB,BUP and IFO files..

To convert just about any media file to DVD, I use VSO DivxToDVD. You can download a trial version @:

I am the master of converting files to DVD disks.

— — — — — — — — — -
1. Use CoolEdit Pro to extract the audio from the video. Save the audio as a WAV file at 48kHz 16-bit Stereo.

2. Get Ulead Media Studio 7.0 (full version). use its Video Editor.
Use their DVD template.
Load the video into the video track. Split the Video and audio, then delete the audio. Next, import the WAV file onto the audio track. Make sure the video and the audio start at frame one exactly.

3. Create the MPEG Video.
CBR 4500kps is good enough for full feature videos.
About 2-3 hours later your MPEG video (it is actually MPEG-2) is ready!!!

4. Use DVDlab to make the DVD disk. You can create menus, titles, etc... (if you want). Most importantly, compile the project to make the VOB files.

5. Burn the VOB files with NERO Burning ROM. Don’t use Nero’s wizard. It should burn in 10 minutes time.

I need some help with burning dvds.
I have been told to do many different things but still I am having no luck. When i try and play the DVD on my DVD player it comes up with a Disc Error and when i try to play them in my PC if i open it on My Computer it reads it as a DVDROM and if i open that it just shows me the VIDEO_TS and AUDIO_TS folders. ANy suggestions people. Here are the steps that I am taking:

1. Open WINavi Video Converter and click movie to dvd.

2. Find the clip that I wish to convert to DVD format and open it.

3. Wait for converting to finnish.

4. Close WINavi and open Nero6 express.

5. Create MiniDVD or DVD video and select the DVD files needed to burn.

6. Burn the DVD

I have also tried changing the UDF seettings reccomeded on this site. Any Help people would be greatly apriceated since this thing is driving me up the wall!

Look above and see my Post. Follow it and use the software as described.

...and Use NERO burning ROM (DVD-Video), manually to burn a DVD with your VOB files.

USE DVD-R Not DVD+R because some DVD players can’t play those. Most old DVD players can’t play a burned DVD.

I have a problem with Ulead media studio. I import the original mpeg2 capture file and media studio splits the audio from the video. when i compile the DVD files media studio puts a audio_ts folder in there but there’s nothin in it. I then use DVDlabs to manually insert the media studio dvd vob files to burn. Play the whole thing on my stand alone DVD no problem except one thing... no sound!somewhere in the process in media studio I’m losing the audio. Instead of compiling the DVD files do I need to save the original file as an mpeg (bear in mind it’s imported in assest as an mpeg2 file already.)

Cheers

OK, I’ll admit it before anyone says it, I’m a a dumb!@#$# when it comes to this converting stuff. Need some help here. I have plenty of movies that I have downloaded but 90% won’t play on my dvd player. Some work on my xbox 360 though. Is there a software program out there that is easy to use to convert video clip, vob, avi etc to dvd? I have roxio, image burn and dvd flick already.
Please help me out.
Thanks!
