converting . dem files to . avi

so what to do with a file like mine made with unreal (sorry that i’m an idiot man have to learn from someone don’t i?) unrealmoviev436 and fraps don’t open them. with cool edit pro i get a pk-file.
whatto do with this?

Use program videomach... it’s safer than fraps. :P

Ok sorry bout calling u an idoit, ok heres what there is. FRAPS: records during game play with extremly low proformance lag. (you can only record for 30 seconds and you hav the www.fraps.com watermark if it is unregistered).
Windows Media Encodes: Records the screen but it takes a lot of ram so u may find lag in some games if u hav less then 512mbs of ram. (free to download at http://www.microsoft.com/windows/windowsmedia/9series/encoder/default.aspx)

Oh, and they both record to *.avi formats and they r not used to open *dem files.

yeah ok i saw that, i downloaded it and it still said that it was a bad file with weird extension

Alright, I know a long and tedious way to convert your .dem files to .avi so if anyone knows a better way by all means use it. Open up counter-strike and type “viewdemo " this will bring the demo up. When you get to the point where you want to start taking footage type in console “startmovie mov 1 30” The 30 is the fps so you can raise it for higher quiality. If you want another one, change the 1 to a 2 or a 3 etc etc etc. Then dl videomach, just google it. When you go back into the folder where the demo used to be you will see a shit load of screen shots. Open all the screen shots in videomach and select options. Video settings you can choose what you want to convert to ex avi, mpeg etc. Then videomach will compress the screenshots for you and you can open the “movie” it creates in which ever editing program you choose. I really hope someone knows an easier way cause this is a long process. Good luck

You know, Bugspray has a point, nobody listens, rewelator probably works, but mine says that it failed to initialise properly. Well, thats coz i need some 28 meg file, but i’m on an ancient internet connection, so i won’t download that. It is too difficult to try to convert the files because as Bugspray said, they only contain data and no frames or audio waves, instead someone should integrate a program into CS and CS|S to be able to control the Demo while it is playing. Oh, and stig, just read what cato said about fifty times over and you might see where your problem lies.

BTW, can someone please give me a link to any anti-hacking/cheating program for Condition Zero.

umm.. if you want some cheats/hack for cs cond zero go to buddy.co.nr. in the download page is some files, they are disigned for cs 1.6 but they might wrk for cond zero. If u dnt know wat 1s r the hacks go to the forum.
