changing from windows media audio/video to other formats

hey

i have some windows media audio/video files that i really want to convert to quicktime mpeg4 or divx, does anybody know how to do this?

they were music videos downloaded from the internet and i really would prefer them in quicktime if possible...

ive forgot to mention, ive already tried a few programs but they couldnt do anything to these files they gave either errors, or said couldnt convert
