Can i still, convert wmv files to Mpeg or avi format even if the wmv file is protected?

I downloaded some WMV files from this video website and all wmv files are protected, i was wondering can i still convert this file from wmv to mpeg or any other video format even if this file is protected? if i can do that what is the program name i should use? thank you
